Drive the Polo R WRC as VW Rally the World
Mon, 21 Oct 2013Drive the Polo R WRC as VW Rally the World Volkswagen have already made the most of their entry in to the World Rally Championships this year with the Polo R WRC – apart from the fact it’s created a 4WD platform for the Polo/A1 in the process – with a street version of the Polo R WRC (although not in the UK). But VW’s adventure in to WRC with the Polo R hasn’t just been about a bit of product development and a spun-off road version – they’ve taken it very seriously. So seriously have VW taken WRC – and so well prepared were they – that Sebastian Ogier has already taken the 2013 drivers gong in WRC (from the previous – long term – incumbent Sebastian Loeb) with three races left, in his 315bhp, 4WD Polo R, and VW look set to take the team title too.
Notable recalls, an AW list
Thu, 25 Feb 2010Safety recalls in the auto industry range from the insignificant to the downright dangerous. It can be something as small as a door-panel screw or as serious as an exploding gas tank. One thing is for certain: As an auto executive, the last place you want to be is in front of a congressional panel trying to explain what happened.
Rolls Royce to set up shop in South America

Rolls Royce – to many still the epitome of luxury motoring – is doing very well, and is now planning an expansion in to South America. The cynical may say that Rolls Royce want a piece of the drug money floating round South America in their coffers, but South America is far more than a bunch of drug barons freely spending illicit cash.
