Young drivers at risk from poor tyre care

YOUNG DRIVERS are putting their lives at risk by not looking after their cars’ tyres. A survey by Tyresafe and insurer Ingenie has found that more than a third of young drivers aged 18-25-years old had never checked their tyres for tread depth and a quarter had not checked the tyres on their car for correct pressure ever. The survey found that better education is needed to tell young drivers of the important of looking after the tyres on their car.

This is Pinifarina's Air Flow, a special helmet created by the famed Italian design house for luxury lid manufacturer Newmax, and the star attraction on its stand at the Milan International Motorcycle Exhibition. But while Pininfarina itself remains an automotive design company, its Extra Pininfarina arm has branched out into other projects, recently designing Coca-Cola drinks machines and the interior of Juventus's new stadium.

Italdesign to unveil fast but frugal hybrid car at Geneva motor show

Italdesign Giugiaro will unveil a concept for a fast but fuel efficient hybrid coupe at the Geneva auto show. The Italian design and engineering company says the two-seater can reach a top speed of 186 mph (300 kph) and accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in less than 4 seconds. The still unnamed concept will travel 117 miles on a gallon of gasoline, Italdesign says.
