OK, stop what you're doing, get out that heavy duty sewing machine and sheers, this is going to put
that stuff to some good use!
This CD contains instructional diagrams on how to build your very own hot air balloon. And the
stuff it does not tell you, you'll be able to figure that out in no time flat.
The files on the CD include over-all construction drawings, and the ever-important panel layout
drawings. The balloon itself is not one-piece. Obviously the shape required when inflated
dictates that this thing be cut, then sewn together. Also included are how to mount the ropes that
connect the basket to the balloon.
The files on the CD are PDF format, with one file in DOC/Word format.

This is not a particularly difficult project, but it is not something you are going
to "whip together" in a couple of days. Time, patience, and careful instruction-following is the
watch-word here. The information on the CD will get you started while you go and learn how this thing flies (yes,
instruction in flying the balloon is really something you should consider before putting your life
in the hands of anything that lifts you off the ground).
Also, please remenber that the CD teaches you how to build the balloon.
The burners and basket are best to be pre-bought, however if you are good with those garage tools,
you should be able to even do that on your own - just remember to keep it light.
The picture above and to the left is from my extensive collection of stuff
and does not represent what your creation will look like once it is done. The diagrams, however, are from the actual files on the CD.
Remember to consult your local laws that govern the in-air operation of craft such as these.
That part is up to you. The plans tell you how to fabricate the balloon; staying out of trouble is your job!
Acrobat Reader is required and available for free downloading from the Adobe site.
PDF files are compatible with most versions of Windows as well as the Mac, and computers using Linux!

Peugeot 4008 arrives early
We knew that PSA were going to take the underpinnings of the Mitsubishi ASX and make them their own. This morning we had the Citroen C4 Aircross and now we get its cousin – the Peugeot 4008. The Peugeot 4008 looks like a very good take on the ASX, with Peugeot’s latest design language in abundance – the new gob is a big improvement – and the promise of some decent compact SUV goodness from the French.

The Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid will show at Frankfurt
The principle difference between the standard Prius and this new plug-in version is – you’ll never guess – that it adds the ability to charge the Prius’ batteries through a domestic outlet. The Prius can be fully recharged in around 1.5 hours, and the new lithium-ion battery pack – which replaces the old nickel-metal hydride pack in the regular Prius – is more compact and of higher output. Toyota claim that the plug-in Prius can cover round 12.5 miles on a full charge in pure ‘Electric Mode’, which is around double that of the normal Prius.
