Longtime auto journalist David E. Davis Jr. dies
Sun, 27 Mar 2011David E. Davis Jr., inarguably one of the deans of automotive journalism, died on Sunday, March 27, at age 80. Davis had been suffering from bladder cancer and underwent surgery a few days earlier.

I’ve had to concede that maybe it’s not entirely realistic to want a petrol V8 in every car I drive, and there are now some very convincing diesel lumps around. They don’t sing like a good petrol lump, but the big wodge of torque most have really does go a very long way to compensate.
Belgian Grand Prix Qualifying – Hamilton beaten to pole by Rosberg
Sat, 23 Aug 2014Rosberg takes pole in Belgium in the rain Formula One is back from its summer break, but normal service has resumed with Mercedes taking a one-two at Spa in qualifying for the 2014 Belgian Grand Prix, but it’s Nico Rosberg on pole, beating Lewis Hamilton in to second place. The two Mercedes were in a league of their own – two seconds ahead of the best of the rest – as torrential rain made the Spa circuit teachorous. Hamilton’s qualifying was patchy – - and a bit erratic – and he also had problems with glazed discs pulling his car to the left, but Rosberg was consistent – and quick – and deserved his pole.
