Aston Martin Vantage gets V12, but we won't get the car

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage, the hottest version of the two-seat coupe, is the latest step in the automaker's new-model offensive for 2009. Revealed just days after the Rapide four-door, the V12 Vantage is the second of four major reveals from Aston this year. Carbon Motors denied government loan for police cruiser

Carbon Motors, an Indiana-based company that aims to build police vehicles, said on Wednesday that the Department of Energy has denied its application for a loan under the Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing program. The loan program was created under President George W. Bush and continued with President Barack Obama.

Ford plans to introduce two-cylinder and three-cylinder engines

Ford Motor Co. will introduce its smallest turbocharged engine yet next year, and on the horizon are even tinier engines--including two- and three-cylinder versions, the automaker's powertrain chief said Monday. Barb Samardzich, Ford vice president of powertrain engineering, said two- and three-cylinder engines and engines with displacements of 1.0 liter or below are possible.
