Tue, 22 Apr 2014CELEBRITY heart-throbs such as George Clooney and Cheryl Cole have come second-best in a recent survey of drivers who were asked for their perfect partner on a long road trip. Six out of 10 drivers in the UK said they would choose their regular partner, whether that person is their husband, wife, friend or workmate, 61% of drivers asked said they would prefer their usual driving buddy to George Clooney or Cheryl Cole. Surprisingly, 11% of drivers surveyed by Halfords said they would be happiest with just a satellite navigation system for company on a long road trip.
Countach Sets Record Auction Price
Thu, 12 Jun 2014A 1982 Lamborghini Countach was the highlight at a recent historics auction at the famous Brooklands Museum. The Countach was clearly the sale star, soaring to nearly three times its reserve price and settling at what is believed to be a UK auction record for this model, at £337,120 including commission and tax. The auction hall was treated to a struggle between bidders for ownership of the 8,500 mile car, which has been in professional storage for the last 23 years.
Lingenfelter offers look at car collection

Car collector Ken Lingenfelter, cousin of the renowned NHRA racer John Lingenfelter, is opening his private garage--er, warehouse--to the public this Saturday. For $15, guests can see Ken Lingenfelter's collection of more than 150 vehicles, with proceeds going to the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology.
