Fairing For Honda Vtx C R S 1800 & 1300 6x9" 2 Speakers on 2040-parts.com
Rowlett, Texas, US
AUCTION INCLUDES:
Honda VTX 1300 installation: The 1800 fairing can fit on the Honda VTX 1300 Honda VTX 1300 R & S models: The R & S model fork tubes between the triple tree are covered with sheet metal shrouds that have to be removed for the fairing installation. This entails you to remove the top tree to slide the shrouds off the tubes, which should be done according to your shop manual. After you have removed the shrouds, the fairing can be installed on the bare fork tubes with the use of PVC pipe spacers. The spacers are needed because the inverted forks on the 1800 model (which the fairing is a custom fit to) are a larger diameter than the 1300 model. Without the spacers the mounting clamps would crush the fiberglass fairing. Honda VTX 1300 C model: The C model fork tubes needs only the spacers to physically mate up the fairing, but there is a interference problem with the turn signals. They have to be removed from the fork tubes to allow the fairing to be mounted. If relocated below the lower tree they may interfere with the front suspension travel, so we don't recommend that. Custom turn signals is suggested. |

U.S. unveils blueprint to tackle driver distraction
Thu, 07 Jun 2012Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said Thursday the agency isn't looking at new regulations to address distracted driving, but rather is calling on automakers to step up voluntary efforts to combat risks with new technologies and education. LaHood, who's made distracted driving a top automotive safety priority of the Obama administration, said he's met with the CEOs of numerous automakers and feels confident "they're committed to safety." He even praised Subaru of America for a TV ad that highlighted the dangers of driver distraction. The commercial featured a father talking to his teenage daughter about the risks of using a cell phone while on the road.
Volkswagen Beetle Dune 'could be built'
Tue, 14 Jan 2014IF YOU like your Beetles with a little more ‘dune buggy’ about them, Volkswagen’s latest concept is right up your street. And what’s more, it really could be right up your street if public reaction to the so-called Beetle Dune is strong enough. With a body raised by 50mm, 19-inch wheels and a special rear-mounted luggage rack reminiscent of early Beetles, the Dune plays on its dual heritage strands of its earliest predecessor and the fully off-road biased dune buggies built on Beetle chassis.
Where did the word 'automobile' come from?
Mon, 06 Jan 2014On Jan. 3, 1899, the New York Times printed the word "automobile" upon its austere pages. It wasn't the first publication to do so; Scientific American used the phrase "automobile carriage" in a May 14, 1898, review of the Winton Motor Carriage, but the Grey Lady -- a more influential publication -- was the first to debate the term.
