We’re already nearly halfway through Series 18 of Top Gear, with episode 3 on tonight. And so far, so good; the daftness is still there, but a lot less puerile than other recent Top Gear stuff, and some properly good car stuff too.

Design boss Trevor Creed heralded it as 'a new, more emotional Chrysler.' Although the same size as the mean-'n'-moody 300C saloon, the Nassau is designed to look smaller, with more delicate surface treatments, a subtler new eggcrate grille and a slimmer, more European hatchback rear end. The steering wheel in a 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible is surprisingly thin. It's oversized and humongously circular--but still startlingly narrow considering it directs a very barge-like Caddy. Oh, and the seats are fairly comfortable.
