Concept Car of the Week: Dodge M4S PPG Turbo Interceptor (1985)

As a major paint supplier of Detroit's big three, PPG would commission every year a car to be used as a pace car in the Indy Car World Series. In 1984 Chrysler began the development of a mid-engined, rear-wheel drive car using an experimental powertrain. To avoid the costs of creating a whole new chassis, the M4S is based on a modified Huffaker tubular chassis with full roll cage taken from the Pontiac Fiero IMSA race car, only lengthened to a 100-inch wheelbase.

Jeep and Mopar are teaming up to create a line of rugged trailers to go anywhere and haul anything. The Jeep Trail Edition campers will match the conventional Jeep in colors and ruggedness, including 32-inch tires, diamond plating and a tall enough suspension to navigate big ruts. GM announces pricing for 2014 pickups

The redesigned 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups go on sale this spring with V8 engines that General Motors claims will get slightly better fuel economy than the rival Ford F-150 equipped with a turbocharged V6. Chevrolet is holding the base sticker price on the 2014 Silverados to the same as that of the 2013 models. This means a rear-drive 2014 Silverado with the base V6 engine will sticker at $24,585, although that model won't be in dealerships until this summer.
