JLR announces £16.3m Evoque_e research project

Jaguar Land Rover has announced it will invest £16.3 million into an ‘Advanced Powertrain Research Project’ – which could lead to an electric Evoque_e version of its small SUV. Jaguar Land Rover will work in conjunction with British technology company and race car manufacturer Zytek Automotive to develop new hybrid and battery-electric vehicle technology. Vauxhall Rake concept (2011) at Frankfurt motor show

Alongside the Astra GTC and Zafira Tourer, Vauxhall (and thus Opel) is unveiling something a little more ‘out there’ at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show. It’s this tiny city car, known by Vauxhall as RAK e, and which we’re going to call the Rake. The name is a modern take on the Rak 2, a rocket-powered Opel that hit 140mph in 1928.

Pagani adds roadster to Zonda Cinque supercar lineup

Pagani is rounding out the lineup of the Zonda Cinque with a roadster that's just as light and powerful as its fixed-roof sibling. The roadster's top is stored under the hood, and the carbon-titanium chassis has been redesigned to compensate for the open-air configuration. Thankfully, the motor remains the same: a Mercedes-Benz AMG powerplant that makes 678 hp and 575 lb-ft of torque.
