Autoweek's Best of the Best winners announced

Today, Autoweek announced the winners of our yearly Best of the Best competition with the Porsche Boxster S and Mercedes-Benz GL taking top honors. Presenting the awards, editor Wes Raynal said, “It was a tough call to make this year with so many incredible cars and trucks that debuted. Bentley posts big sales jump for 2011

Luxury-car maker Bentley says 2011 was a banner year, with global sales of 7,003 cars, up 37 percent from the year before. Bentley capped the year with a strong December, selling 1,059 cars--the second-best month for sales in its history. Sales in December were up 69 percent from the same month a year earlier.

Auto sales top 14.4 million in 2012

U.S. light-vehicle sales--led by Volkswagen, BMW and Honda--jumped 9 percent in December, pushing the seasonally adjusted sales rate above 15.3 million for the second consecutive month and helping the industry finish 2012 on a high note. Automakers sold 14.49 million light vehicles in the U.S.
