Thu, 03 Nov 2011Peter Horbury, presently Vice President of Design at Volvo Car Corporation, is set to join a growing roster of design directors who have relocated to China – the most recent being Gert Hildebrandt who was appointed Design Director at Chery Quantum Auto Co. (a joint venture between Chery Automobile, China's largest independent car manufacturer, and Israel Corp.) earlier this year. Horbury, who will be taking up a new position as Senior Vice President of Design at Geely Group, will be based in Sanya, in the Hainan Province of China.
Noble plans to bring the Fenix supercar to the United States with Chevrolet power

Powered by either a 638-hp supercharged LS9 V8 or a 480-hp LS3 V8, Noble's new Fenix supercar will aim for Ferrari 458 Italia performance at about half the price, a performance-price offer that served Nobel well at his previous company, Noble Automotive. Along with homeowners, motorists also battled rising water levels and deteriorating road conditions. However, according to a new survey of its members, the AA has said that as many as 68 percent of those polled said the extreme weather had contributed to poor road conditions but 67 percent blamed councils for not maintaining drains well enough.
