Sat, 10 Jan 2009

The XFR is Jaguar’s answer to the barn-storming saloons from Mercedes, BMW and Audi, and if looks and spec (and the experience of driving the non-blown XF) are anything to go by, the new big Cat should get the cream. The XFR gets the new version of Jaguar’s AJV8 engine, which is a 5.0 litre supercharged lump, producing a whopping 510bhp, with the usual limited top speed of 155mph, and a 0-60 of around 4.5 seconds. Japanese Grand Prix Qualifying: Webber takes pole for Red Bull

Sat, 12 Oct 2013

Japanese Grand Prix Qualifying: Webber takes pole for Red Bull It’s been a long time since Mark Webber took pole position in a Grand Prix, but luck was on the side of the seemingly perpetually unlucky Webber as a KERS problem took the edge of Vettel’s speed in Suzuka this morning. Webber ended up beating his team mate by 0.174 seconds to take his first pole of the 2013 F1 season and make this the first time he’s out qualified Vettel this year too. And, just for a few seconds at the start of the race, it looked like Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes had got his fellow German’s measure as he swept past the Red Bull in the opening few yards. But it was a short-lived lead as Rosberg went too deep going in to the first corner and Vettel swept by to re-take the lead, and kept it to the end in an imperious display of driving in what is now starting to look like an unbeatable Red Bull.
