Self-driving Tesla could hit roads within three years
Tue, 01 Apr 2014Electric car manufacturer Tesla has said that self-driving cars could be a reality within the next three years, with the firm targeting a computer-guided version of its Model S saloon. Tesla chief executive officer Elon Musk said in an interview with the Financial Times that the autonomous driving technology would act like “an autopilot” that could be switched on and off like an aeroplane’s guidance system. Holden to stop making cars in Australia
Fri, 13 Dec 2013Fresh from the news that General Motors (GM) will be pulling its Chevrolet brand out of mainstream markets in Europe, the automotive giant has now confirmed that its Australian subsidiary, Holden, will stop making cars Down Under by the end of 2017. It’s further bad news for GM, but even more so for the 2,900 Australian people who are set to lose their jobs as a result of the closure. And it’s a sad and disappointing end for the famous Holden marque, which can trace its history back as far as 1856.

The first photos of the 2015 Jazz (above and below) show a car that looks familiar but which is much changed, including a growth spurt that adds 30mm ro the wheelbase (but only 15mm to the length). The new Jazz sits on Honda’s global compact platform – the same platform that underpins the Civic and the new HR-V – and keeps the central fuel tank with the benefits that offers of better interior room and practicality.
