New Stratos (w/ Gallery)
Wed, 18 Aug 2010After weeks of speculation, the official story and pictures of the reborn Lancia Stratos – officially named 'New Stratos' – have been revealed. While the car's design and concept are obviously related to the 2005 Fenomenon Stratos – a venture headed by RCA graduate Chris Hrabalek – design and development have been completed by Pininfarina. Initially headed by Jason Castriota before he left – ironically for the original Lancia Stratos' birthplace, Bertone – Luca Borgogno completed the exterior and interior design.
Renaultsport R.S 01 first pictures: Renault’s new 2014 racer revealed
Wed, 27 Aug 2014By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 27 August 2014 16:26 If you were worried that Renaultsport had lost its mojo after the lacklustre Clio RS, think again: it’s just unveiled the new Renaultsport R.S 01, a wild and focused track racer for the Trophy one-make series. Weighing less than 1100kg thanks to its Dallara-sourced carbonfibre chassis, the R.S 01 has a 3.8-litre V6 engine developing ‘more than 493bhp.’ The engine is borrowed from in-house alliance partner Nissan’s GT-R Nismo high-performance coupe, and is breathed on by two turbochargers. It’s mounted amidships and revs to an angry-sounding 6800rpm.
Crashing the Pixar Motorama car show
Mon, 15 Jul 2013The animated film studio Pixar sits behind newly aged brick walls on a sprawling campus in the East Bay that looks and seems a little like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, especially since you can't get inside. But we've been inside, and it is a pretty wonderful place. On July 12 Pixar's Jay Ward, guardian of the "Cars" franchise and all the wheeled wonders that entails, organized the latest Pixar Motorama, the greatest car show you'll never see.
