SNUGTOP by Custom Hartops.  Pebble-grain black exterior finish, smooth white interior finish.  Tempered glass, not plastic, windows.  Has a few hairline cracks in the interior fiberglass and three small voids in the seal around the back window, and the side hold-down clamps are long gone (I used zip ties) but overall in pretty good shape.  I replaced the weaterstripping all around and then had custom roll bars made and made sure the soft top cleared the new bars but failed to check clearance for the hardtop - I am not about to remove the roll bars so I now have no use for the hardtop.  It fits my 1976 Spider and I believe it fits all 70-82 Spiders but it is buyer's responsibility to confirm the fit.  I can deliver anywhere within 150 miles of Portland Oregon for $0.50 per mile.

Wed, 23 Feb 2011

Ford is recalling 144,000 F-150 pickups from the 2005 and 2006 model years because of concerns that the airbags may deploy without warning, the automaker said on Tuesday. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration advised Ford to recall the F-150 after investigating 238 reports of accidental airbag deployment. Seventy-seven injuries have been reported, including chipped teeth, minor burns and cuts to the arms, hands and face.

-- If this isn't the automotive video of the week, then we don't know what is. A car in Taiwan just barely avoids being crushed by a gigantic boulder, whose water and mud bow wave shoves the car a few feet before the boulder even lands anywhere near the car. Watch the top of the hill at the very start of the video.

First Fiat 500s will have stick shifts

Mon, 17 Jan 2011

The 2012 Fiat 500 , heading to U.S. dealerships later than first expected, is enduring another hiccup: The first units arriving in dealerships in late February will have manual transmissions, the company said. Moreover, only about 20 percent of the 130 Fiat dealerships will be open when those first cars arrive, said Laura Soave, head of the Fiat brand in North America, at the Detroit auto show last week.
