is a Retro fitted item by Rodney Dickman (if you know Fiero's, you know who this is) for a 1985 Fiero GT V6 2.8; These
are off my car that I was in the middle of a restoration project but have since
went a different direction This is the Idler Pulley and the Longer Belt Please

about a 75% increase in surface contact with the alternator pulley thus
eliminating belt squeal. It also greatly increases the contact surface on the
drive (crank) pulley. Easy to install in the car. Fits all V-6 Fieros. With or without
A/C. Just remove the two bolts, install the idler pulley assembly, reinstall
and tighten the two original bolts. Install the new longer belt, tighten and
you are done. No need to over tighten the belt now to stop that annoying squeal
common on most all Fiero 2.8 liter V-6 engines. Carry your old belt for
emergencies as the pulley will not be in the way if you need to reuse the
original belt in an emergency. This idea of using an idler pulley and a longer belt was first thought of by John Allen of Shelburne, MA. He used a different mounting method than my kit but he gets the credit for coming up with an innovative solution to this common problem on the V-6 Fiero. Using this kit will eliminate the need to over tighten the alternator thus greatly reducing the wear on the alternator and water pump and increasing their service life. Also eliminated is the need to over tighten the bolt for the alternator adjustments which leads to the failure of the aluminum alternator bracket. You may also want to consider the reinforcement plate for the alternator bracket. This bracket greatly reduces the pressure on the factory alternator bracket and in some cases can be used to hold a slightly broken alternator bracket together.

Nissan raises Leaf prices, adds retail markets
Tue, 19 Jul 2011Nissan North America said Tuesday that it will add $2,420 to the price of the base model of its hard-to-get, slow-to-build electric Leaf sedan. Compared to 2011 model year's $33,630 base price, including delivery, the 2012 model will begin at $36,050. The car's upper-grade SL model will sell for $38,100, an increase of $3,530 over 2011.

After all the grief over his One Show comments (which, although a bit OTT, were actually not his views but an attempt to humorously demonstrate the BBC’s obsession with ‘balance’), Jeremy Clarkson has decamped to China – together with James May – to film for an episode of the new series of Top Gear. It looks like the piece they’re filming revolves around Chinese car clones, with the Shuanghuan Noble (Smart), Shuanghuan CEO (X5) and the Chinese version of MINI – the Lifan 320.
Hyundai to expand U.S. engine production
Tue, 17 May 2011Hyundai Motor Co. will spend $173 million to expand its engine plant in Alabama to build more four-cylinder engines. The expansion work is set to be complete this fall and production is set to begin in March 2012.
