Power is sent through the rear wheels only, whose surrounding shoulders widen by 43mm to accommodate the extra track.
Ford Fiesta eWheelDrive gets wheel hub electric motors
Sat, 27 Apr 2013The Ford Fiesta eWheelDrive – a driveable research vehicle built by Ford and German specialists Schaeffler – may be a regular supermini in size, but it points towards a potential future EV which is much more compact and very manoeuvrable. But the plan is to build new cars with the batteries under the floor which frees up the space under the bonnet which can then be all but removed to create a very compact urban car that still has space for four.
SEASONAL PRESSURES SEE MARKET SLOW IN JULY

The headline average used car value declined in July, as would typically be expected at the onset of the summer holiday months. Values across the board fell to £5,633 down from the £5,662 recorded in June – a £29 decrease that was equivalent to 0.5% fall.
