Pagani Zonda F Cinque – er, no it’s not!

The mysterious 'Zonda F Cinque' - which is actually a Regular Zonda Cinque But we are still to see the Zonda Cinque (which is essentially a tamed-down Zonda R for the road) in the wild, and probably because of that the car sites around the world were full of a mysterious ‘Zonda F Cinque’ that was going to turn up at the Geneva Motor Show. But we had our doubts. We have pretty good contacts at Pagani, and although we knew that the Pagani coming to Geneva was in fact the Cinque (as well as the Zonda R) we wanted to work out where the rumour came from.

VW will build small run of XL1 plug-in hybrid

Volkswagen will begin production of its XL1 plug-in hybrid in two years. "We want to go into series production with this car starting in 2013," VW chairman Ferdinand Piech told Automotive News Europe on Tuesday at an event in Doha, Qatar, ahead of the 2011 Qatar auto show where VW unveiled an XL1 prototype. 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL previewed by leaked brochure

Here's the image that has the Web abuzz today--an apparent brochure scan of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL distributed by a European automotive site. Design cues reminiscent of the SLS AMG are unmistakable, and the new SL also takes on a fairly prominent iteration of the corporate front fascia. Underneath, Mercedes is promising a new aluminum architecture that will save weight while boosting rigidity.
