Alfa Romeo 159 Sportwagon TI is spotted in metro Detroit
Mon, 18 Jun 2012It's tough to say what a metro Detroit sighting of this manufacturer-plated Alfa Romeo 159 TI Sportwagon portends for the Italian automaker's long-anticipated return to the American market--probably nothing. Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne's plan to bring Alfa Romeo back to the United States features the sporty, limited-edition 4C coupe, the subcompact MiTo and the midsize Giulia, but not the out-of-production 159. Mercedes-Benz unveils 'golf cart of the future' design study
Tue, 23 Jul 2013Designed at its Carlsbad studio in California, Mercedes-Benz presented its ‘Vision Golf Cart' to the golfing world during this year's Open Championship in Scotland. Having called upon car fans and followers of the sport to submit their ideas for a future Mercedes buggy, a jury then went about sifting through all the submissions until they found the best entries. Electrically driven and powered by a battery kept continuously charged by solar panels on the roof, the buggy is controlled by a joystick mounted on the center console allowing either passenger to drive.
Black cab fares to rise
Mon, 24 Feb 2014BLACK cab fares in the capital are going up and could rise again as early as next January. From April 5, London taxi fares will increase by an average of 0.7%, Transport for London (TfL) announced today. TfL said the below-inflation increase was the lowest since it took responsibility for licensing taxis in 2000 and the rise equated to just 9p more on an average fare.
