The core innovation in this design is the roof which in Saab's words is: "a powered, flat-folding roof developed from a Targa top principle". And just to prove the point, this year the annual Bonhams sale earned a staggering £22.6 million on the Friday of the event. The star attraction was a 1954 Ferrari 375-Plus, as used in iconic road races such as the Mille Miglia, Targa Florio and Carrera Panamericana, which sold for £10.7 million following a fierce battle between bidders.

This is the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, a stripped-out racer that'll compete in a one-make racing series from 2013. It'll also spawn other racing versions of the rear-engined icon, and eventually track-day versions of the 991 too.
