Umea Institute of Design degree show 2009
Fri, 17 Jul 2009Masters students from Sweden's Umea Institute of Design recently exhibited their final-year projects at the university's annual degree show. Featuring the work of both graduating diploma students and those completing the first year of their MA in Transportation Design, this year's exhibition brought together a diverse range of themes, ranging from futuristic interpretations of existing brand DNA to new concepts in car production, usage and forms. Ford Shelby GR-1 concept shown at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance
Fri, 13 Aug 2004Ford is taking the occasion of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance to unveil the Ford Shelby GR-1 concept, calling the new sports car a salute to 'performance art'. The GR-1 is a uniquely emotional American sports car design that makes a bold statement about Ford's performance future. "The Ford Shelby Cobra concept was a small step in our plans for the Ford GT supercar architecture and our relationship with Carroll Shelby," says J Mays, Ford Motor Company group vice president of Global Design.
BAC Mono moves to Liverpool
Wed, 10 Jul 2013The BAC Mono with brothers Brigg & Mayor of Liverpool (pictured) The BAC Mono is in the public eye this week after its impressive performance on Top Gear, but even without the publicity from Top Gear the brothers Brigg were already doing very well with the Mono. So well, they’ve been looking for new premises to continue their growth and have settled on a move from Cheshire to Liverpool (just up the road) and a new facility on the Speke Hall Industrial Estate in South Liverpool is set to become the new home of the Mono. BAC’s new home in Speke will be up and running by the autumn, will create an additional 60 jobs in the local economy – and more in the supply chain – and is expected to turn out more than 100 Monos a year by 2015.
