This particular instrument has a US Navy Anchor symbol stamped on its side below the data label.  See photos from the FJ-2 Fury Flight Manual showing the location of the indicator on the instrument panel (see orange dot) as well as some detail regarding its indicated readings.  The knob moves an index marker along the scale to set the desired value of angle of attack.  It is in terrific shape for its age.  The glass and case are intact and the dial markings are clear and precise. The light bulb still resides beneath the small cap on the upper left corner. Would be a very nice addition to your collection.
