Flap Position Indicator, General Electric DJ-17ABE Boeing B-50 SuperfortressThis is a vintage Wing Flap Position Indicator made by General Electric Type DJ-17 Model 8DJ17ABE, as appeared in the Co-Pilot's Panel on the post WW2-era Boeing B-50D Superfortress Very Heavy Bomber. See photo of the Co-Pilots Panel of a B-50D from its flight manual, showing the position of this indicator with a red dot. Not yet confirmed, but this may have also been used on the Boeing C-97 Stratofreighter and KC-97 Stratotanker since they are brethren to the B-50 and shared many technologies.
The instrument is in exceptional condition for its age. The dial markings are clear and the glass and case are intact. See photos. This would be a very cool addition to your collection, or for that B-50 that you are building in your garage. Please note that seller does not represent that this specific instrument was actually removed from any aircraft cited in the description, but that any documentation referenced here is evidence that it is the same type number and/or manufacturer's part number, used in these aircraft, or if such numbers are not available, the item closely resembles photos of the aircraft's instrument panel. Fiat 500C Prices announced – and the UK gets it first!
Fri, 27 Mar 2009Fiat has announced UK Car Prices for the 500C - and the UK is the first in Europe to get the 500C [ad#ad-1] Fiat, on something of a roll at the moment, revealed the latest version of the terrific Fiat 500 – the convertible Fiat 500C – at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, and has now revealed prices for the UK. The Fiat 500C will be on the roads by the Summer in the UK – ahead of anywhere in Europe, including Italy – and will no doubt prove to be as successful as its tin-topped siblings. Starting point for the 500C is £11,300, rising to £14,100 for the high-spec ‘Lounge’ version.
MINI gets a BMW 2.0 litre diesel
Sun, 03 May 2009BMW 2.0 litre diesel in a MINI raises the prospect of a MINI John Cooper Works diesel [ad#ad-1] Just like every other car maker, MINI is trying to find a way to give their cars extra eco-kudos but still be able to deliver what their customers want. Hybrids, electric cars and other ‘eco-friendly’ options are one way to go, but diesels, with their extra torque and modern power, can deliver much of what a zippy little petrol unit can (even if they do lose some of the subtlety). So BMW are looking at ways to inject a little more economy in to the MINI Cooper, and if possible a little more power.
