Partial 1932-42 Flathead Ford V8 brass main bearing shim set - one pair National #'s 2451 (fits front or center) & one pair # 2452 (rear). My catalog shows these as correct for 85, 95, & 100hp V8's 1932-42, but probably fits later too - my catalog is a 1942 version. Each shim is 1/64" thick, & is made up of a stack of ..002 shims, the outer edge is bound so they won't curl or come apart until you peel them open. National calls them 'multi leaf construction". This allows you to add or remove layers to get the perfect fit on those difficult babbited bearings . This is what they used back in the day to shim the main bearings for proper clearance. Connecticut garage fire destroys Volt and homemade EV

News reports say two plug-in electric cars--a 2011 Chevrolet Volt and a home-converted Suzuki Samurai--were destroyed in a garage fire in Barkhamsted, Conn., on April 14. The destroyed Volt had just 2,000 miles on the odometer. The owner said he converted the Samurai to electric power a few years ago.

2012 Suzuki Swift Sport - properly revealed ahead of Frankfurt With Frankfurt rapidly looming we’ll be getting waves of reveals over the coming days (keep that coffee pot bubbling – long days coming), and today’s first offering is a slightly more extensive reveal of the 2012 Suzuki Swift Sport than we had last month. The Swift has become a properly decent little car, and we’ve been looking forward to the arrival of the new Swift Sport. Mind you, we were looking forward to it more when we thought it might get 180bhp of Polo GTI goodness under the bonnet.
