Here’s the second-generation Flying Spur limousine, a refreshingly modernised Bentley that will take the fight to the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Mercedes’ new S-class. The exterior is transformed by crisply pressed surfaces, the interior is packed with cutting-edge multi-media features and the W12 drivetrain promises lashings of extra power and better economy. In fact the Flying Spur, which starts deliveries in June for £140,900, is the fastest and most powerful Bentley four-door in history.

GERMAN tuning firms are known for occasionally crossing the barriers of taste, but this latest offering from Carlsson appears to have gone into new territory. Called the CS50 Versailles – after the Palace of Versailles that King Louis XIV turned into a opulent chateau – it’s based on the latest generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which is hardly a car short on luxury. But that hasn’t stopped Carlsson turning it into an automotive homage to gold.

VW Eos facelift (2011) first pictures

The new face of the facelifted VW Eos is unveiled today ahead of its public debut at the LA motor show 2010. The design takes a modest step away from the 2006 Eos convertible, with shades of the new VW design language seen across the Polo, Passat and Sharan.  There's a stronger emphasis on the horizontal lines carried throughout the new design becoming stronger and more obvious towards the rear: a new corporate grille complete with chrome highlights is joined by LED daytime running lights that make the Eos look a shade wider and lower than its predecessor.
