Bentley-designed Santa’s sleigh
Wed, 17 Dec 2008By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 17 December 2008 14:30 We reckon Father Christmas is probably a bit of a Bentley guy: he has a large number of miles to cover in speed and in great comfort – and he needs something big and plush to look after all those presents. What better solution than something mixing the design class of a Bentley with the snow-covering ability of a downhill toboggan? We did wonder, just briefly, if Pagani’s tease for something new at Geneva 2013 would be the Huayra Raodster. But we were soon steered away from that thought when Pagani released a second teaser for their news which made it pretty clear that the big news was all about a new Sound System option for the Huayra from Sonus Faber.
Rolls Royce 102EX: Electric Phantom revealed
Tue, 01 Mar 2011Electric Rolls Royce Phantom Rolls Royce has taken the wraps of its experimental electric Phantom at Geneva – Rolls Royce 102EX – and they certainly haven’t done things by halves. Rolls Royce engineers have taken the regular engine out of the Phantom and replaced it with a pair of electric motors rated at 145 kWh and possibly the biggest lithium-ion battery bank on four wheels. The Phantom EV uses five lithium-cobalt-manganese-oxide (or NCM) pouch cells which form the shape of the engine and live under the bonnet.
