Pininfarina Air Flow helmet unveiled
Wed, 11 Nov 2009This is Pinifarina's Air Flow, a special helmet created by the famed Italian design house for luxury lid manufacturer Newmax, and the star attraction on its stand at the Milan International Motorcycle Exhibition. Pininfarina is the same company that has penned the Ferrari 458 Italia and Maserati Granturismo. But while Pininfarina itself remains an automotive design company, its Extra Pininfarina arm has branched out into other projects, recently designing Coca-Cola drinks machines and the interior of Juventus's new stadium.
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (2013) first official pictures
Mon, 14 Jan 2013This is the new C7-generation Chevrolet Corvette. It's the fist 'Vette to wear the classic Stingray badge for three-and-a-half decades, but not much else is retro about the new coupe. Out go the rounded taillights and glassy rear hatch of bygone models, and in comes a sharp new look with hints of Nissan GT-R, Ferrari F12 and Camaro about it.
'Snake & Mongoose' movie review
Fri, 06 Sep 2013There's another great motorsports rivalry being celebrated cinematically this month -- while "Rush" grabs all the global headlines, the drag racing biopic "Snake & Mongoose" has all the same elements that drove Lauda and Hunt -- minus the world stage. Hard to believe, but professional drag racing wasn't always a glamorous, high-budget affair with corporate hospitality suites and top drivers flying to races in private jets. "Snake & Mongoose" takes us back to an era when drivers needed that $500 win money to buy gas to get to the next race -- and held grudges against track owners who only paid $400.
