One of the best entry level boots on the market, the Fly Maverik F4 brings together performance, protection and comfort at a very competitive price. And with features like real leather, molded protectors and easy locking buckles, the value goes a long way.

Articulated Rear Ankle – gives the subtle flexibility to bend your foot down, yet still remains supportive

3D Shin Protection – pre-shaped for comfort-molded plastic adds impact protection

Adjustable Quick Lock Buckles – secure buckles with a solid locked in feel and an open design keeps dirt from clogging the function

Elastic Gaiter – provides a comfortable rim around your calf while sealing the opening from debris Inner Ankle Protection – made of durable and flexible plastic, this panel keeps you close to the bike with a protective shield between your foot and the elements

Leather Heat Shield – no more burnt plastic with this leather heat shield. Leather is long lasting and won’t melt

Race Sole with Steel Shank – this internal steel shank is laminated into the length of the sole. Steel provides the rigid strength needed during the impact and stress of motocross

Elegance Without the Boast: Glenmoor Gathering keeps gaining significance

Sat, 16 Oct 2010

Founders of the Glenmoor Gathering of Significant Automobiles steered away from the “concours d'elegance” label when they started the thing 16 years ago. That “concours” word escapes their lips now that the annual gathering on the grounds of the Glenmoor Country Club (the centerpiece of a gated community just outside Canton, Ohio) has achieved a certain gravitas. Consider the best in show winner at the Sept.

CAR Magazine South Africa launches ‘Design a Car’ competition

Tue, 17 Jul 2012

CAR Magazine in South Africa has announced its ‘Design a Car' competition, in an attempt to encourage aspiring South African designers. Entrants are asked to submit designs for a compact, environmentally friendly four-seater Jaguar that stays true to the brand's premium/sporty image for market introduction in 2015. Luma, the digital content creation company, will turn the winning design into a three-dimensional animation and it will also feature in a short promo film with a vehicle designed by CAR's own staff.

Volkswagen XL1

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

This, remarkably, is the production version of the Volkswagen XL1, the most fuel-efficient production car in the world, a car we'll see in Geneva in a little over a week. Barely changed from the concept version shown at the Qatar motor show two years ago, the production XL1 is the first production result of VW's 1-liter project – to design a car that uses less than 1l/100km (282.5mpg imperial) – that started with the lozenge-shaped, tandem-seat 2003 1L and the later L1 of 2009. The XL1 actually beats that by sipping just 0.9 liters with CO2 emissions of 21g/km.
