Tue, 29 May 2012The Alfa Romeo 4C has beaten the Aston Martin Project AM310 (new AM DBS) to the prize for best concept at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. As you can’t have failed to notice, this last weekend was the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, an elegant and delightful car event on the shores of Lake Como in Italy. And the new Aston Martin DBS (Project AM310) was the big news.

On the way to the fully autonomous car, car makers will be offering stages on the way as the ability of cars to be self-controlling moves along, and Ford are heading in that direction with their new systems for parking and obstacle avoidance. Ford are running prototypes with Fully Assisted Parking, a system that manages to sense a space, control the steering, gearbox and brakes to park the car at the touch of a button, even if the driver isn’t actually in the car.
Honda starts deliveries of FCX Clarity

Some 200 hand-built FCX’s will be delivered to a wide range of customers, including high-profile celebrities – like actress Jamie Lee Curtis – as well as normal working families. The project is part of Honda’s goal to stimulate energy suppliers to create a more viable hydrogen supply network, a move backed by Arnold Schwarzenegger, the governor of California.
