Ford B-Max goes in to production
Mon, 25 Jun 2012The Ford B-Max – Ford’s long overdue replacement for the Fusion – has gone in to production in Romania before going on sale in Europe in September. The Ford B-Max is the long-awaited replacement for the very ancient Ford Fusion which finally, a year on from the B-Max Concept - arrived at this year’s Geneva Motor Show in production guise. Thankfully – because the B-Max concept as so convincing – Ford has managed to deliver a production B-Max that carries over almost all the features of the concept with just a few minor things – like more sensible wheels and proper door handles – marking the production B-Max out from the concept.

The new XKR Speed Pack and Black Pack lets customers spec up styling accoutrements and raise the top speed from a limited 155mph to 174mph. This Jag XKR does what it says on the tin, unleashing the potential of the 503bhp/461lb ft supercharged V8 for a £3500 supplement.

But Honda are planning on bringing the Type R back to life in 2015, but rather than a VTEC engine that only wanted to really play over 5000 rpm, Honda are heading back to hot hatch goodness with a new turbo engine that promises ‘at least’ 276bhp. That should make the next Honda Civic Type R not only a lot quicker than the last Type R, but its power will be accessible much lower down the rev range and economy and emissions will be much improved.
