Subaru Impreza WRX STI S206: The ultimate Impreza for JDM
Thu, 24 Nov 2011Subaru Impreza WRX STI S206 Scooby fans do like a limited edition Impreza, so their collective mouths will be watering at the news that a new Impreza is on the block – the Impreza WRX STI S206. But before you all get too excited, Subaru has no plans to bring any of the 300 S206s to the UK – they’re all for the JDM and are going straight on sale in Japan, with an S206 taking pride of place on Subaru’s stand at the Tokyo Motor Show next week. Subaru say the S206 is the Crown Jewel of the STI cars, and Subaru have given the S206 a raft of updates over the standard WRX STI.
Hyundai Eon Launches in India from £3.5k
Thu, 13 Oct 2011Hyundai Eon launches in India from around £3.5k No, reasonable though it would be to assume so, the Hyundai Eon is not a new electric car, but it is Hyundai’s answer to the best-selling small car in India – the Suzuki Alto. Launched on the back of a 900 Crore investment by Hyundai in development and production for the Eon (a Crore is 10 million Rupees, so that’s about £125 million) the Eon is a big push by Hyundai to make a big dent in the burgeoning Indian market. The Eon comes with an 814cc 3-pot 55bhp petrol engine – which won’t exactly have Indian buyers flying along at breakneck speeds – and offers properly decent styling, rather than the toy car styling of something like the Tata Nano.
Geneva 2011 - Best in Show
Fri, 04 Mar 2011Unlike Detroit, which generated a lot of hype for what turned out to be not as much new product as we'd hoped, the Geneva show was a true return to form, with all new vehicles occupying various different market segments making their debuts. But Geneva wouldn't be complete without the seemingly never-ending stream of concept cars filling the halls of the Palexpo. Every year the Swiss show's neutrality is the perfect breeding ground for the French, Italian and German automakers to strut their future visions for mobility about.
