MINI decided around this time last year that they would name all future limited editions after London districts, since which time we’ve had the MINI Hampton and MINI Pimlico followed by the MINI Soho and even the MINI London to get a bit of extra mileage out of BMW’s Olympics 2012 sponsorship. Bertone to celebrate 100th anniversary with Nuccio concept
Mon, 13 Feb 2012Bertone will introduce its new Nuccio concept car at the Geneva Motor Show as it celebrates its 100th anniversary. The concept – named after the son of the company's founder Nuccio Bertone, who died in 1997 – appears to take inspiration from the 1970 Lancia Stratos HF Zero, one of Bertone's most famous designs, created by Marcello Gandini. The similarities in these teaser sketches include the extreme wedge profile and hood/windscreen surface, highlighted in orange.
Volvo XC60 R-Design revealed
Tue, 07 Jul 2009Volvo has released details of an R-Design version of the XC60 Still, more power isn’t everyone’s cup of tea – particularly at the moment – but many buyers like a bit of ‘butchness’ in their cars. And to be completely fair to Volvo, although they haven’t messed with the oily bits for more oomph, they have played with the suspension for more feel. Volvo say the XC60 has improved steering (thanks to ‘Direct Steering Gear’), stiffer damping and a more robust chassis.
