It replaced the very able – but rather unloved – S Stype in 2008 and offered a real contemporary Jaguar, fully equipped for the 21st century and able to stand toe to toe with the best that Germany could offer. Audi A1 – Production to start
Sun, 19 Jul 2009Audi will being production of the Audi A1 in October And now comes confirmation that Audi is finally going to kick off production of the A1 in October. The head of Audi’s Brussels plant – Alfons Dintner – has confirmed that the Audi A1 will start production in October after a five week shutdown in August to gear the Brussels plant up for production of the new A1. The new Audi A1 will start to hit European Showrooms in the early part of 2010.
Car makers shun Detroit show NAIAS 2009

The very survival of Detroit is being questioned as Congress debates the $25 billion aid package to save GM, Ford and Chrysler – and now it looks as if the NAIAS is under threat too. In the past weeks, Ferrari, Land Rover, Rolls Royce, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Suzuki have announced their withdrawal from the show, which is scheduled to begin on 11 January 2009.
