Chief engineer of Ford Focus quits to lead German yacht builder
Mon, 12 Jul 2010Jens Ludmann, chief program engineer for Ford Motor Co.'s new Focus, is quitting the automaker to head a German-based maker of luxury yachts. Ludmann led a team at Ford's European base in Merkenich, near Cologne, Germany, that developed the Focus, the first car from CEO Alan Mulally's global One Ford strategy and flagship of the company's new range of global C-segment products. The German native, who joined Ford in 2000, will become CEO of Bavaria Yachtbau GmbH, effective Aug.
Ferrari apologizes for employee filmed doing donuts in China
Thu, 10 May 2012Ferrari issued an apology on Wednesday after one of its employees was filmed doing donuts in a 458 Italia 20th Anniversary Special Edition on the 600-year-old Ming Dynasty wall in the city of Nanjing. The online community has been up in arms, with users of Wiebo, China's version of Twitter, being allowed to complain the loudest. Much of the anger was directed at the Chinese government, which rented the wall for the occasion at a cost of $12,000.
Drink Drive Message Failing As One In 15 Fail Breath-Tests
Mon, 28 Jul 2014ROAD safety charity Brake has issued an appeal to the public to not drink and drive this summer and all year-round, as figures from the Association of Chief Police Officer's (ACPO) summer drink drive enforcement campaign, show one in 15 of those breath-tested were over the limit. During the national campaign, which ran from 1 June to 30 June, 63,688 breath tests were administered, of which 4,108 (6.5%, or one in 15) were failed or refused. This is 1.3% more than during the 2013 campaign.
