Volvo ES wagon completes new concept car trio (2014)
Mon, 24 Feb 2014By Ollie Kew and Damion Smy First Official Pictures 24 February 2014 10:00 This is our first look at the new Volvo estate car concept that’ll be shown at the 2014 Geneva motor show. Called the Volvo ES Concept, it’s the third and final design study from Volvo’s new chief designer Thomas Ingenlath, who’s been pinched from Volvo rival VW to pen a sharp and sexy new range of Swedish metal to take on the dominant Germans. We’ve seen Ingenlath’s idea of a BMW 4-series-sized coupe, and an XC90-previewing SUV.
Top Gear Tonight: Ferrari F12, BAC Mono, Ron Howard & the world’s best taxi
Sun, 07 Jul 2013Jeremy drives the BAC Mono (pictured) in tonight’s Top Gear Tonight’s second episode of series 20 of Top Gear gets back to the usual format. The new reasonably priced car is in action for the first time as film director Ron Howard – who’s just done Rush, which chronicles the rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauder during the 1976 F1 season – gets behind the wheel of the Vauxhall Astra to set a lap, talk about cars and his new film. Jeremy Clarkson gets to play with the stunning Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, which with 731bhp, 0-62mph of just 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 211mph should induce more than a grin or two from Jezza as he takes to the roads of Scotland.
New Audi Quattro supercar: could this be it?
Thu, 15 Aug 2013Audi has released surprise pictures of one of the concept cars it will be bringing to the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, on its international media site. The new concept currently comes with no other information – not even a name. However, given the way it looks so similar to the RS5-based Quattro concept from 2010 and the presence of the Quattro text on so many of these illustrations, it seems fairly clear what this new supercar will be called.
