Sure, we've seen the new Corvette Stingray, crawled all over the C7 at car shows, seen interior 360 videos of it and maybe, just maybe, had some time behind the wheel (you'll know soon enough). But there's something special about spotting the car on public roads -- there's something even more special about spotting a pair of them nose-to-tail in rush-hour traffic. Essentially the same car underneath, the main differences come in the number of doors and the suspension settings, with the M3 built as a four-door, slightly more forgiving saloon and the M4 as a harder-edged two-door coupe. But both will go very sideways, if that’s the sort of thing that revs your engine, thanks to a shared 425bhp six-cylinder engine that sends all that juicy power to the rear wheels.

The altruism demonstrated by offering appealing cars for charity auctions is to be commended, especially from a young - and relatively impoverished - outfit like Henrik Fisker’s eponymous company. Yes, there’s a bit of publicity to be garnered for the Karma, but good on Henrik for offering up the first Karma to charity.
