New VW Golf R Mk 7 costs from £29,900 in the UK
Fri, 08 Nov 2013The new VW Golf R (pictured) costs from £29,900 The best of the MK 7 Golfs – the new Golf R – arrived back in August ahead of its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, with Volkswagen telling us it would go on sale in early 2014. But it’s actually on sale now, a few weeks early. At £29,900 (for the 3-door with 6-speed manual), the Golf R is a sensible price ( at least in comparison to VW’s truly silly price for the MK 6 Golf R Cabrio – which they subsequently dropped by more than £5k) and undercuts the similar Audi S3.
Porsche Carrera GT Wallpaper
Sat, 04 Apr 2009Porsche Carrera GT Wallpapers in standard and widescreen resolutions Porsche originally planned on building 1500 Porsche Carrera GTs, but in fact only 1270 were actually built, with almost half of these going to the US. Just five standard colours were available on the Carrera GT (although Porsche would produce special paint finishes on request) and all featured a six speed manual ‘box and a base list price of $444,000 + tax. The limited production of the Porsche Carrera GT has helped it retain much of its value – a 2004 Carrera GT would still command in the region of $350,000.
On this clear day, you can see Fritz Henderson’s General Motors
Tue, 31 Mar 2009Fritz Henderson and the guy he replaced at the top of General Motors, Rick Wagoner, both speak Portuguese. But that may be where the similarities end when it comes to the words spoken by the former CEO and his newly elevated successor. In his first news conference as the head of GM, Henderson made it abundantly clear that he understands the forces that put him where he is and what they expect from him.
