The new VW Golf R has been revealed and it’s the fastest version of the iconic hatch ever. The all-wheel drive flagship Golf now has 296bhp, up from 267bhp, with its 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive sending the six-speed DSG version from 0-62mph in a feisty 4.9sec – matching the BMW M135i, but still shy of the Mercedes A45 AMG, which cracks it in 4.6sec. Mitsubishi readies concept for … Bangkok?

While Lamborghini, Ferrari and McLaren are getting ready for the Geneva motor show, Mitsubishi continues to zig by revealing a concept for the 34th Bangkok International Motor Show. The Concept G4 is a compact sedan powered by a 1.2-liter MIVEC engine with a CVT. Mitsubishi says that the sedan carries the company's next-generation styling, including a diamond motif in the front grille, new headlights and an aggressively styled rear fascia.

Associated Press Mercedes-Benz has been found guilty of fixing prices of car parts in China – with BMW, Audi and Chrysler also facing penalties. China’s state news agency, Xinhua, reports that the German manufacturer has been found guilty of using its power to control the prices of parts. The Chinese government is cracking down on monopolies and has been accused of being too harsh on companies from abroad.
