If you are looking to upgrade that old, tired Ford 289 or Ford 302 and bolt in extra horsepower this Ford 302 crate engine by Tuff Dawg Engines would be an EXCELLENT choice with 375hp @ 5500rpm and 395ft lbs of torque @ 4500rpm. This engine has a rough idle with enough cam to give it that muscle car sound but is still mild enough to be reliable for that everyday driver or restoration project. This engine should be used with a 2500 stall speed converter if being used with an automatic transmission, and a 650cfm to 670cfm carburetor is recommended. This engine runs on leaded or unleaded premium pump fuel.

The balanced rotating assembly (typically includes crankshaft, pistons, rings, connecting rods, rod bearings, and balancer) featured in this engine:

  • 3.000" stroke nodular iron crank
  • 5.090" forged rods with ARP rod bolts
  • 9½ to 1 compression hypereutectic pistons

More special features of this engine include:

  • Seasoned block that has been vatted, magnafluxed for cracks, thermal cleaned and steelabrated, bored, honed and plateau honed to fit new flat top oversized pistons
  • Deck head gasket surface on block to ensure a good long lasting seal
  • New CompCams Hydraulic flat tappet cam with .512" valve lift
  • High quality ProComp Racing performance heads are 356A Aluminum casted with thicker deck surface for improved sealing
  • This set of heads weighs 50lbs less than the cast iron head
  • 75cc Exhaust ports that are deburred and polished
  • 60cc Combustion chambers
  • New 2.02"Int/1.600"Exh stainless valves with undercut stems to improve flow
  • Heads have 3-angle valve job

Mark Goodier gets the first Nissan LEAF delivered in the UK It’s taken a while, but Nissan has finally got the Nissan LEAF on the road in the UK, with the first two customers picking up their cars this morning. Nissan dealers Glyn Hopkin in Waltham Abbey had a pair of nice, shiny, black Nissan LEAFs all prepped and ready to go this morning to the first two UK customers – DJ Mark Goodier and electronics engineer Richard Todd. Mark Goodier – once a Radio 1 key player but now out to pasture at Smooth FM – was the first to drive off in his LEAF, subsequently commenting on Twitter that “…I had a great smooth drive into London today”.
