  •  Original Minilite Magnesium Racing Wheels
  • Restored by Gary Arentz, Chromate Treated + Epoxy Coated to further protect the Magnesium
  • All wheels checked for cracks, verified true and straight
  • Wheel Pair Size: 8 X 15
Offered for sale is a pair of 8X15 FORD Magnesium Minilite OEM Racing Wheels. Beautifully restored and finished in a protective Chromate process.  These wheels are now looking for a new home, maybe a historic 1970 Ford BOSS 302! The wheel dimensions are as follows: Diameter 15x8 / Bolt Spacing: 5x4 1/2 bolt / Backspace: 4.5 inches. Both wheels are stamped with 33R and 15114.  Pure speculation, but these wheels may be from John McComb's 1967 FORD Shelby T/A coupe. Not confirmed, but all prior indications lead to that. Awesome piece of Trans Am racing heritage.  Keywords:  Parnelli Jones. George Follmer. Smokey Yunick. Carrol Shelby. SVRA.

SsangYong Korando 4×4 gets cheaper with arrival of the Korando SX

Mon, 18 Jun 2012

SssangYong has dropped the entry price for its 4WD C-Segment SUV Korando with the launch of the Korando SX. SsangYong is the Korean car maker that hasn’t yet quite managed to drag itself out of the bin marked ‘Oh, dear’, but the takeover of SsangYong by the deep-pocketed Mahindra and the launch of the seemingly convincing SsangYong Korando Crossover/SUV last year auger well. The Korando is aimed at cars like the Hyundai ix35 and Kia Sportage, and it seems a decent enough offering in a slightly generic way (even if it is penned by Giugiaro), with a 2.0 litre turbo diesel with a decent enough 173bhp and with a choice of auto or manual, FWD or 4WD.

Pagani Huayra in Purple with Tricolour Calipers (video)

Sun, 11 Nov 2012

We have video of what looks like a new build Pagani Huayra, still plastic wrapped, in purple with Italian Tricolour brake calipers. That’s because the Pagani Huayra has not, as far as we can tell, managed to get a European Certificate of Conformity or managed to be Federalised for the US, so sales are impossible. But Pagani are still producing a few cars – although they’ve probably built more Zondas in the last two years than Huayras – but it looks like this Huayra – caught on video outside Pagaini’s premises in Modena – is a new build.
