BMW 3-series (2012): our comprehensive guide to F30
Thu, 17 Nov 2011BMW has sold 12 million 3-series models since 1975; it’s an important car, one that accounts for a third of global BMW sales. The sixth-generation, codenamed F30, has a lot to live up to, then. Here are the key changes: Chassis The F30 is still, of course, rear-wheel drive, has 50:50 weight distribution, and sticks with the MacPherson strut front/multi-link rear suspension layout of its predecessors rather than following the double-wishbone front suspension employed by the new F10 5-series.
Video: Toyota teases Furia concept
Fri, 21 Dec 2012Toyota has released a teaser a teaser video to promote its new Furia concept, set to be unveiled at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month. From what we can tell, the orange sedan concept features some carbon fiber accents – check out the rear lip spoiler – and there appears to be the standard next-generation lights we see on every concept. The world debut of the Furia Concept will be broadcast live online via Livestream on 14 January.
Porsche Panamera Shooting Brake Estate Concept at Paris?
Fri, 27 Jul 2012It looks like Porsche will be showing a concept estate version of the Panamera at Paris – perhaps the Porsche Panamera Shooting Brake? The rumours that Porsche are preparing an estate version of the Panamera for the Paris Motor Show in September are gathering pace, and it now seems almost certain there will be a Panamera Shooting Brake Concept to upset Porsche purists when the Paris Motor Show opens on 27th September. Although the Panamera Estate Concept is highly probable, it seems likely any production car is some way off – probably 2015 at the earliest – before which we’ll see the Panamera get a facelift (which could arrive at Paris too) and even a Panamera Coupe and convertible on a shortened wheelbase.
