McLaren P1 explained by Anthony Sheriff (video): Paris 2012

Fri, 28 Sep 2012

McLaren Managing Director, Anthony Sheriff, explains exactly what the new McLaren P1 Supercar will offer its customers. But the concept P1 does show exactly where McLaren are heading with the spiritual successor to the McLaren F1 road car of the 1990s, and it does look 95 per cent like the production car. RCA team helps develop all-electric London taxi proposal

Fri, 17 Jan 2014

The Royal College of Art's Vehicle Design program and the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design have collaboratedwith Turkish car manufacturer Karsan to develop a proposal for the first all-electric London taxi. An RCA team – co-led by Professor Dale Harrow and the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design's deputy director Rama Gheerawo – has been working with Karsan and its consultancy Hexagon Studio for over a year and to develop a public transport vehicle to suit Londoners of all ages and abilities. The team analyzed a current London taxi in a ‘co-creation workshop' and conducted interviews with taxi drivers, which showed many are over 65 and frequently spend the entire working day inside their cabs.

Cadillac Ciel Concept - sybaritic style for Californians It’s not hard to tell the General Motors has found its Mojo again after losing it to Uncle Sam; all you need to do is take one look at the Cadillac Ciel Concept that’s turned up at Pebble Beach this weekend, probably the boldest Cadillac Concept since the Cadillac Sixteen. The Cadillac Ciel is a big, impressive four-seat convertible designed to epitomise the American Dream, as it cruises along the Pacific Coast Highway, cosseting its occupants in sybaritic style. But this is 2011, so there’s a nod to the eco-sensibilities car makers feel the need to embrace.
