Carlsson's 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-class gets 780 horsepower
Mon, 16 Sep 2013If the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG or the S65 AMG are too mild for your tastes, then German tuner Carlsson may have something for you. Ignoring for the moment the question of just how we already have entries from AMG, BRABUS, and Carlsson before deliveries of stock versions have even started in most of the world, Carlsson for the moment holds the top spot as far as claimed power figures are concerned. And those power figures depend on which engine choice you start out with.
Concept Car of the Week: Honda J-VX (1997)
Fri, 29 Aug 2014In 1997, in an effort to preserve its sporty image, Honda needed to bring new exciting models in its showrooms, to park alongside its mainstream Civics and the excellent but slow-selling NSX. The 1995 Integra Type-R proved a fun car to drive but lacked in personality compared to older models of the brand such as the bold CR-X. At the Tokyo motor show, Honda unveiled a prototype of what could be the sports car of the 21st century while also capturing the essence of the iconic CR-X.
Jaguar Land Rover create 700 more jobs at new engine plant
Tue, 05 Mar 2013Jaguar Land Rover has announced that they are creating an additional 700 jobs – double the original – at their new engine plant in Wolverhampton. Back in 2011, we revealed that Jaguar Land Rover were planning a new facility on the i54 development in Wolverhampton to build engines for their cars, removing the reliance on Ford’s (excellent) engines in the process. That investment was to be £335 million with 700 new jobs created in Wolverhampton – and more than 2,000 in the supply chain – but it seems that’s not going to be enough with Jaguar Land Rover sales continuing to grow at a great rate of knots.
