Suzuki plans to bring Kizashi to UK in 2011Tue, 23 Nov 2010Suzuki is evaluating bringing in its Mondeo-rivalling Kizashi family car to the UK market this time next year. The Suzuki Kizashi is already sold in Japan, the US, Australia and New Zealand, but now European importers are beginning to sell the car on the Continent. It's already sold in Switzerland and Norway, German sales begin in winter 2010 and - if the trial goes well - UK sales could kick off in autumn 2011. Lexus IS (2013) more details of new 3-series rivalTue, 15 Jan 2013Lexus has pulled the cloth back on the all-new Lexus IS at the 2013 Detroit motor show, and announced more details of its new hybrid 3-series rival. This will be the first hybrid Lexus IS, and UK sales will start in summer 2013. What do we know about the new hybrid Lexus IS? The IS300h combines an electric motor with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. The torque output is yet to be confirmed, but there's 217bhp and Lexus is aiming for a sub-100g/km CO2 output and fuel consumption of at least 65mpg. Figures like that are likely to grab the attention of fleet managers, as Lexus hopes to close the gap on rivals like the BMW 3-series, Mercedes C-class and Audi A4. There's a non-hybrid model too, but this IS250 will be powered by a 204bhp 2.5-litre V6 petrol engine. It won't be a fleet favourite. The IS250h has a six-speed automatic transmission, the IS300h has a CVT gearbox, and both cars are rear-wheel drive. New Longbridge production lineThu, 31 May 2007By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 31 May 2007 10:10 Reborn MG opens its doors at Longbridge Yesterday marked the latest chapter in one of the genuine rollercoaster stories of our times: the rise and fall – and now yet another recovery – of car production at Longbridge, the spiritual home of some of the most famous nameplates in British car manufacturing. This time it’s the rebirth of MG, now in Chinese hands and back from a near-death experience since MG Rover collapsed in April 2005. Nanjing Automobile Corporation (NAC) is the oldest car maker in China and paid £50 million to snap up the MG brand and manufacturing rights, but can it really stand a chance with its new English project? The Chinese manufacturer is reviving the MG brand and, in Europe, the first model on sale will be the revised TF roadster on sale around September 2007. 2040Parts.com © 2012-2024.
