FORD FE 390 - 428 Connecting Rods - Good used condition.

Recently pulled from an engine that I built years ago and ran in a truck. Engine was never abused. Mileage on these rods in this engine is approximately 20,000 so the rods are relatively fresh.

Please note: One of the rod bolts is missing. I lost it. A missing rod bolt is an accepted condition of this sale.

When I built the engine, the rods were reconditioned. Big end was resized and small end was rebushed. Rods are numbered 1 though 8

You may need to have the small end rebushed for whatever particular piston you are using. These rods were fitted for sealed power 2217P forged aluminum pistons.

You are buying the connecting rods only!

The Pistons are NOT part of this sale, but I WILL include them with the rods for FREE! They are, flat top 390 for a .040 overbore engine. There are valve reliefs cut into the piston tops. They are in decent condition but would likely need a good soak in carb cleaner to be ready to run again. I make absolutely no quality claims on the pistons! They are NOT a paid part of this sale. They are only being included as a FREE courtesy. Compression ratio was 10:1 as I recall.

I did not include pictures of the pistons as they are NOT part of this sale, just a freebie that someone might want.

I would have no problem at all with putting these connecting rods back into service.

I WOULD likely change out the stock rod bolts to a new set of ARP performance bolts as cheap insurance. Personally, my confidence level in the stock Ford connecting rods is considerably greater than the cheapo made in china rods.

Johnson will take to the circuit in the Historic Touring Cars class behind the wheel of a 1964 Mini Cooper that he purchased late last year after driving it in his television series ‘Cars That Rock With Brian Johnson’.
