Caterham in surprise motorbike racing move

Caterham has today revealed it is moving into motorbike racing, with the launch of a Moto2 World Championship team that will debut in 2014. The two-bike team will compete in the feeder series to the ultra-popular MotoGP championship, with one rider – American Josh Herrin – already being confirmed for one of the race seats. Caterham AeroSeven unveiled in Singapore Caterham Seven 165 prototype stars at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show Caterham will team up with Swiss motorcycle racing experts Suter Racing Technology to design the new bike.

Richard Ferlazzo has been appointed General Motors Australia design director. Taking up the position from 1 September, he will report directly to executive director international operations design Michael Simcoe and also GM Holden chairman and managing director Mike Devereux. Ferlazzo will be responsible for Advanced, Production and Global Contract programs and replaces Andrew Smith who left Holden this month to take up the position of executive director of global Cadillac and Buick design at GM's technical center in Warren, Michigan.

40 years of Porsche Design is being celebrated in an exhibition at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany. The Porsche Design Studio was founded in 1972 by automotive legend Ferdinand Alexander Porsche – better known for his design of the iconic Porsche 911 – and has since developed consumer products for the public. Porsche designed a number of classic men's accessories such as watches, sunglasses and pens as well as a number of industrial products and household appliances, collecting honors and awards along the way.
