2014 Land Rover Dicovery 5 to lose more weight than 2013 Range Rover

It appears the next generation Land Rover Discovery is set to shed even more weight that the latest 2013 Range Rover. We know that Land Rover are on a quest to reduce the weight of their offerings, and the all aluminium 2013 Range Rover is the first real evidence with weight drops of up to 420kg for the new 3.0 litre diesel. But it looks like the next generation Land Rover Discovery – which is due in 2014 and will be the Discovery 5 – is going to eclipse even the huge weight loss of the new Range Rover.

New Subaru Legacy production version teased for Chicago Auto Show

The new Subaru Legacy is being teased Subaru have moved quickly from showing a concept version of an all new Legacy at the Los Angeles Auto Show,  with the first tease for the new Legacy revealed ahead of a debut at the Chicago Auto Show in a week’s time. Looking at the tease (above) it does seem to have a very similar shape to the concept version we saw at Los Angeles,. But if Subaru’s recent form is anything to go by, the production Legacy will be far less impressive than the concept.

Nissan might delay U.S. EV output

Japan's earthquake and tsunami may force Nissan to delay the start of U.S. production of its Leaf electric vehicle, now scheduled for late 2012. "The earthquake is putting us in a very difficult situation," said Hideaki Watanabe, head of Nissan's Global Zero Emission Vehicle Business Unit.
