Up for sale is a completely restored pair of early style Ford Model T clincher wheels. These are a pair of front wheels that are 30x3. The steel components have been sandblasted and inspected for good bearing fits, and threads. These front hubs are of the later Ford design that is much less prone to cracking. They then are primed with automotive type lacquer primer. The wood spokes and fellows are custom made to properly fit each rim from Shag Bark Hickory just as Henry Ford used. The spokes are the slim tapered design used on early Ford Ts. They are riveted with new steel splice plates and hubs are pressed in with new bolts installed. A new copper valve stem is formed and installed to finish these wheels off as the nicest restored wheels you will find. I have restored and sold many of these here and elsewhere and shipped to many locations with nothing but pleased buyers, check my feedback.

New Smart ForTwo and ForFour set for 2014 unveil

Wed, 30 Oct 2013

Mercedes-Benz's struggling Smart city car division is seeking to add a new dimension to the urban driving experience with its third-generation ForTwo, currently undergoing the final phase of a three-year test and development program ahead of a planned unveiling mid next year. Set for North American launch in 2015, the ultra-compact two-seat hatchback represents a fresh chapter in operations for Smart, which has recently gained greater independence from parent company Mercedes-Benz as its boss, Annette Winkler, attempts to stem years of financial losses after almost a decade of rebuilding following its short-lived joint venture with Mitsubishi. The new ForTwo, known internally as project C453, has been developed in a joint engineering program with the upcoming second-generation ForFour and its sister car, the third-generation Renault Twingo.

Top Gear to do ‘Economy’

Tue, 30 Dec 2008

Don’t think for a minute that we’re going to lose the supercar stunts we know and love, and see them replaced by the charms of a Kia Cee’d economy run, but Top Gear, in common with the rest of the Beeb, is having its budget cut – apparently. Andy Wilman, who is the brains behind TG (and its producer) together with Jeremy Clarkson, has been bemoaning the budget cuts planned for the show on the TG website. He said: ‘No point in moaning about that.

GM's historic Willow Run plant closes

Fri, 24 Dec 2010

After 68 years of arming the nation and putting America on wheels, the Willow Run manufacturing plant in southeast Michigan closed on Thursday. The 5-million-square-foot powertrain plant, owned by Motors Liquidation Corp., the remnants of the former General Motors Corp., has fallen victim to GM's 2009 bankruptcy and subsequent restructuring. About 300 workers left at the plant will either “retire, transfer to another campus or go on layoff,” said Chris Lee, a spokesman for the reorganized General Motors Co.
