1961 Jaguar E-Type ‘Barn Find’ sells for £110k

    Fri, 03 May 2013

Rarity is all in the classic car world, which is one of the reasons why the early, pre-Fiat Ferraris command huge prices (there were only 33 Series 1 Ferrari 250 GTOs built and you would now have to pay north of $40 million for one) and why the E-Type – glorious and desirable though it is – commands a fraction of that. In fact, you can pick up a very decent E-Type in good condition for as little as £50k, and even E-Types that have been fully restored and with low mileage don’t often break the £100k barrier. So why has this tatty 1961 flat-floor E-Type sold for £119,020 at Bonhams auction at the RAF Museum in Hendon?

Morgan Plus 8 Speedster celebrates 100 years of Morgan car production. Costs £69,995.

    Fri, 18 Apr 2014

The Morgan Plus 8 Speedster (pictured) celebrates 100 years Morgans may still look like Morgans did half a century and more ago, but under the skin lies a car capable of holding its own (most of the time) with cars from the modern er. And none more so than the Plus 8. Now, to celebrate 100 years of building cars at their Pickersleigh Road factory in Malvern, worcestershire, Morgan has revealed a limited edition (although such is Morgan’s production numbers you could reasonably consider every Morgan a limited edition) of the Plus 8 – the Morgan Plus 8 Speedster.

    British Motor Show first details

    Mon, 17 Dec 2007

By Ben Whitworth Motor Shows 17 December 2007 10:30 It may be a long way off on your automotive calendar, but next year’s 2008 British Motor Show looks set to be the biggest yet, with organisers expecting ticket sales to top the 550,000 mark. Housed at ExCeL London in the Docklands between 23 July - 3 August 2008, the show will feature more than 60 vehicle marques and 600 cars – including the global debut for the new Vauxhall Insignia and a preview of the new four-seater Lotus Project Eagle (mule for next-gen Eagle/Esprit chassis testing above). Although it’s still some eight months distant, over 80 percent of the stand space has already been sold, and the exhibition will also include the following attractions: • The Heritage Enclosure and Parade – a driving display providing the sights, sounds and thrills of supercars from the last five decades • Drift School – a chance for visitors to be driven sideways around a circuit by professional drivers • The Marine Experience – the British Marine Federation will display a line-up of luxury water craft as well as a programme of on-water entertainment • The Autoglym Supercar Paddock, a high-octane collection of luxury marques • The 4x4 Experience, a challenging terrain for testing the best of the off-road pack • Motor Theatre, a live-action stunt show Tickets to the Show will be on sale from February, with prices starting at just £8.
